New Twist on Rochas Okorocha's accident victim: “My Husband Still In Police Custody, Car Impounded''.

okorocha
MRS. Callister Nnawuihe, whose husband collided with Governor Rochas Okorocha in the now famed auto crash in the Orlu area of Imo State has declared that her husband has been in the custody of the police sequel to the accident that occurred two weeks ago.
She confirmed that her husband was not treated at Orlu alongside the Governor as earlier reported but was taken all the way to Federal Medical Centre, Owerri for treatment.
On whether her husband was implicated in the accident by running foul of traffic rule, she said she was not at the scene of the accident and has not had the opportunity to discuss extensively with her husband since the accident.
According to her, her husband is a gentle, law abiding man and was certain he is innocent of any traffic or criminal allegation in the circumstance.
On why her husband was being held, she said that she was informed that it is ‘for security reasons’.
It would be recalled that following the auto crash, the media has been awash with the version of the incident from Imo Government house. With growing speculation that the governor had been driving himself at the time of the accident and had unwittingly ran into Osita Nnawuihe’s lane, it becomes imperative to hear his own version.
However, there seems an effective plot to keep him ‘out of circulation’ as his wife confirmed that her husband is now ‘healthy but inaccessible’.Efforts to get comments from the state Police Public Relations Officer, Joy Elemoko Ugo, was unsuccessful as her mobile number was not connecting calls.
A call to the state Police Commissioner, Muhammed Musa Katsina was not answered and a text message to the commissioner inquiring about the accident victim in their custody was also not replied A visit to St. Mary’s Children and Community Hospital Umuowa where Governor Okorocha received first aid treatment before being flown overseas, yielded little as the Hospital Administrator, Sir Louis Ekwebelem affirmed that only the governor, who sustained an injury in the head was treated in their theatre by their Chief Medical Officer and the Chief Surgeon According to him, “We did not see the other man you are talking about. He was not brought here.”
