President Goodluck Jonathan has declared a state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states of Nigeria in his state of nation's address tonight. He directed the Chief of Army staff to deploy more troops to the affected states. The Governors of the three states will still exercise their constitutional responsibilities and the political class in the states have been advised to be law abiding. President Jonathan said he is committed to protecting the lives and properties of all Nigerians.
On terrorists,he said
"We will hunt them down, fish them out and bring them to justice. No matter what it takes, we will win this war against terror".
This sounds more hands on.
