The trial of three Lebanese nationals facing counts of terrorism, money laundering and illegal importation of weapons continued yesterday with the government showing in court, video clips of which portrayed the three men preparing to launch an attack on the Israeli Embassy in Abuja.
Also tendered in evidence were clips showing the accused making video recordings of some strategic public buildings within the Federal Capital Territory.
The video evidence, tendered in court by a masked witness simply identified as DSS10, also showed the accused persons making confessional statements to some of the charges.
The suspects, Mustapha Fawaz (49), Abdallah Thahini (48) and Talal Ahmad Roda (51), who are charged with their companies, Amigo Supermarket and Wonderland Amusement Park Resort, are  also being held in connection with the discovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition in a bunker in House No. 3, Gaya Road in Kano.
Besides, the video recordings, which were contained in eight Digital Video Discs (DVDs) showed recordings of all the interview sessions held with the accused persons by officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) and was admitted in evidence by Justice Ademola Adeniyi.
Contrary to the denials made by the accused persons, particularly Roda, (who was arrested in the house), clips from the video revealed where Roda admitted he was in charge of tendering the bunker.
The video also showed Fawaz (a co-owner of Amigo Supermarket) admitting to making video recordings of aerial views of some strategic structures in Abuja from the top of the Sheraton Hotel (which is located in Central Area).
Fawaz added that he led one Issah, a non-Nigerian to locate the Israeli Embassy in Abuja. The three men also admitted to undergoing training in the use of firearms in their home country of Lebanon.
In his reaction, the lead defence lawyer, Robert Clark (SAN) said the videos showed nothing that wasn’t already known.
