Floyd Mayweather win, lose or draw, will bag a $41.5million purse when he fights Saul Alvarez in Las Vegas tonight. The undefeated boxer, rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, goes by the nickname 'Money'.
And the world's highest-earning sportsman's expensive antics outside the ring show he has done more than enough to earn that moniker.
Mayweather is known for living a high lifestyle. |
As revealed by The Independent, Mayweather's world is one of diamond-encrusted watches, luxury cars and yachts, multiple homes and even flying everywhere in two private jets.
The $41.5m (£26.25m) purse for the Alvarez is the most lucrative of his career, eclipsing mega-fights with Oscar de la Hoya and Manny Pacquiao. The fight looks set to break box office records.
The 36-year-old is known to only wear pants, socks and shoes once before he gets rid of them. He usually leaves shoes for hotel and cleaning staff.
When he travels he takes TWO private jets.
His $1.1M beting slip for a college football match |
He travels in one with a million in cash, and a foot masseuse.
In the other travel his bodyguards and the fruits of expensive shopping trips.
A recent magazine interview claim his rational is that he thinks his burly bodyguards will crash his jet.
Mayweather has no endorsement deals with sportswear giants, instead wearing his own brand of clothes made by The Money Team - the title for his huge entourage.
The cash-obsessed boxer has two fleets of luxury cars. Not so outlandish for a multi-millionaire, but all the cars at his Miami house are painted white and all the cars at his Las Vegas home are black.
His watch collection claimed to worth $6.4M |
Mayweather once had $7M worth of jewellry stolen |
Also known for his gambling, he once put a $1.1m bet on a college football game, and there are rumours that he put $5.9m on the Miami Heat winning the NBA title.
It's not all good news however, as Mayweather once had an eye-popping $7m worth of jewellery stolen from his home.
Although he is reaching the twilight of his career, and has beaten almost every top-ranked opponent out there, don't expect the money to stop rolling in.
The Alvarez fight is the first of a six-fight contract Mayweather has with Showtime - a deal reported to be worth £300m.
Mayweather is definitely living it up. There are ballers and there are ballers. : )
Floyd is a ballers favorite 'baller'.
