Breaking news: Associated Airline plane carrying 20 people crashes.


 


The Associated Airline plane reportedly carrying about 20 passengers has crashed on take off from Lagos to Akure. It is unconfirmed if the plane was carrying the body of late Agagu( Ironically he was  Ex Aviation Minister) and some members of the family and if there are any survivors. Reports say that Agagu's wife,first son, Agagu's corpse,Chief Olu Falae's first son, Deji Falae, Olusegun Obasanjo's son Gbenga, all perished in the crash. The crash occurred at the local wing of the airport, the engine is said to have failed and crashed into the section where JET-A1 plane fuel is stored and went up in flames. The number of casualties is to be confirmed by the Airport Authority. Evacuation of passengers by the fire service is ongoing.

The spokesman of the Nigeria Aviation Agencies (NAA), Yakubu Datti, has requested that more time be availed to them for concrete details due to the conflicting stories already gone viral.
Segun Demuren, the son of Harold Demuren, who was the immediate former Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, tweeted about the crash.
