Nigerian man arrested in the UK for sham marriage.

The Police in the UK interrupted a sham wedding between a Nigerian man living illegally in the UK and a Portuguese woman.

Luck ran out on the desperate couple when the ceremony which was being held at a registry office in Harrow, North London, was interrupted by Home Office Immigration Officers. Both the bride and groom were subsequently taken away for questioning separately.

The 32-year old Nigerian  has now been deported back to Nigeria, while the woman, 22, has been put on bail until November 7. Immigration officers said the woman may have married for cash on three separate occasions.
