Listen up, engaged couples of the world: If you want your marriage to last a lifetime, there are some decidedly un-sexy conversations you need to have before tying the knot.
According to Laura Wasser, Celebrity Divorce Lawyer, all couples need to talk about finances, kids and religion -- among other pertinent topics -- before the wedding.
"These are things people don't discuss," she stated. "They're not sexy, they're not fun. But at a certain point, you need to have communication about them. And if you do, I believe your relationship will last longer and you won't have to end up getting divorced."
Look before you take that leap.
Gbam, very true. Talk about money ooooo. How many kids you want.... Religious tourism or not. Family importance (or not) is equally up there in importance. Importance of friends and keeping in touch with them. Lastly, discuss your personal ambition and prenup (especially if you plan on making a lot of money). ReplyDeleteOur naija attitude is "it's not my portion". Whose portion is it?. Reality is that divorce happens everyday in naija. In any case, prenup should cover divorce, seperation and polygamy. Sidon dey look na when e happen and ur pocket dey empty
