In the early hours of Friday morning Beyonce released her self-titled fifth studio album on iTunes without any prior warning.
Accompanying the album she also released 30 second teasers from the full videos for the 14 songs on the album, as well as three bonus videos.

She left her fans shocked with the release of her  groundbreaking self titled album... along with SEVENTEEN new videos featuring Jay Z, Blue Ivy and her mom

The unexpected release of popstar Beyonce's new album overnight has been an impressive feat.
Not only did the launch cause iTunes to temporarily crash due to the overload of eager fans, the singer is now the envy of record companies across the world after managing to keep the much-anticipated album a secret.

The artists on her latest offering read as a roll call of music's most successful stars - including collaborations with her husband Jay Z, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Drake, The Dream and Frank Ocean among many.

The closing track, 'Blue,' features her daughter Blue Ivy.
The 32-year-old is one of the most photographed women on the planet and although the star has been spotted filming videos in locations around the world, no-one guessed the major coup she was planning.
On the whole the videos were veiled in secrecy, even though they were filmed in open places, primarily during her successful Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.
In October Pharrell Williams hinted her album was almost finished.
'B's album is crazy,' he told Billboard. 'Let me tell you what it is. She’s very particular. She’s a Virgo. And she’s not going to put it out until it’s ready and feels like it’s right to her.'
The exact cost of Beyonce's album is unclear, but there is speculation it could be one of the most expensive albums ever produced.

The self-titled offering is packed with X-rated lyrics and the 32-year-old mother is scantily dressed as she 'twerks' in some of the 17 videos.
Today Vivienne Pattison, the director of pressure group Mediawatch-UK told MailOnline: 'It is real shame her songs are availabl  to all on YouTube. It's not a case of going into a shop and buying the album and the last time I checked the videos were not age-restricted.
'Beyonce is a role model, whether she likes it or not. She needs to show some responsibility.
'We are watching young female popstars on a race to the bottom. It's a shame as Beyonce was always the one who rose above it - she was the one who took the higher ground.'
In one of the songs the star croons: 'He Monica Lewinskyed all over my gown' while in another song featuring her husband Jay-Z she sings: 'Oh he so horny, he want to f***. He bucked all my buttons, he ripped my blouse,’
