Mariah
Carey has revealed her difficult first pregnancy has put her off having more children.
The Art of
Letting Go singer, 43, had such a tough and lonely time while carrying the couple's
two-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, she wouldn't want to put herself
through that experience again.
'I had pre-eclampsia, I had gestational diabetes,' she said on US talk show Watch, What Happens Live, on Sunday.
'[It was] a really
difficult pregnancy and I was alone most of the time ...we love Nick, but he
was working! He's the hardest working man in show business.'
She joked that if her husband could carry a baby, she would love to expand her brood.
'If
Nick could have the babies himself, then maybe. Then, bring 'em on. We love
kids!'
Once the
jokes subsided, however, the diva claimed she was more than happy
with her family and feels content with her two children.
She added: 'Nick and I have a boy and a girl, I couldn't ask for better.'
She also revealed that having children has changed her
outlook on her career. She makes decisions based on her kids' needs.
'I'm responsible for these children 'til forever so I look at
it like, they didn't ask for this lifestyle,' Mariah said.
'Here they are, and it is so
different than being able to just be like, "OK, bye, well, I'm going here now.
I just did a show, I'm leaving."'
(The
couple have been recently hit by rumours of marital strife, but have
been posting happy pictures from their family holiday in Aspen over the
weekend.)
Mariah had
an eventful year as a judge on American Idol but quit the show in May
following her famed feud with fellow panellist, Nicki Minaj.
Wish them well but am a skeptic when it comes older woman younger man marriage cos it doesn't go the distance.
ReplyDeleteShe really went tru a painful pregnancy and it's quite sad her hubby wasn't there for her when she needed him most.
ReplyDeleteNick isn't ready for marriage least of all fatherhood, he is too young for the responsibility
