Man who padlocked son’s mouth and killed him remanded by court

The Killed son
An Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State, has ordered that 30-year-old Chris Elvis be remanded in prison for allegedly killing his four-year-old son, Godrich Elvis, while padlocking his mouth.
The magistrate, Ms S.O Solebo, said Chris should be remanded in prison pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution.
It was learnt that Chris had killed his son on the allegation that he was evil and responsible for his ill-fortune.
The security guard, who works with Merchant Navy, a security outfit, was said to have locked Godrich in a room, padlocked his mouth and beat him to death, including using a hot pressing iron on him at their home on Adetola Adelaja Street, Meiran, Lagos State.
When Chris was arrested, he suddenly began feigning insanity.
A police source said that the accused was acting strangely to convince the police that he was mentally ill.
The drama however continued on Wednesday when Chris took the strangeness to another level.
After the murder charge was read to him, and he was shown the charge sheet, he took the paper and put it in his mouth.
The magistrate, however, cautioned him to behave well as he was in a court.
The murder charge reads, “That you, Chris Elvis, on February 10, 2014, about 5pm at 7, Adetola Adelaja street, Meiran Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill one Godrich Elvis, aged 4 years by using hot pressing iron to burn him all over his body and putting him inside a plastic drum and locked the drum with padlock and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.”
His plea was not taken. The matter was adjourned till April 2, 2014.

  2. The man must be insane. That is the only reasonable explanation for this barbaric act.

  4. Its really disheartening the manner in which people are so quick to blame their poverty on another person. This is the height of wickedness! He should be locked in a mental institute or better still, be given the life sentence! He'll have enough time in there to reflect on who is really the cause of his ill-fortune.If he can do this to his blood, wonder what he'll do to a stranger? SMH!!!
