Why Rob Kardashian skipped Kim's wedding

Rob Kardashian has skipped his sister Kim's wedding to Kanye West after feeling under pressure about his weight.

The 27-year-old, her only brother, is said to have dubbed the extravagant celebrations 'superficial bulls***' and flown back to Los Angeles direct from Paris on Saturday.

His decision followed a row with Kim prior to the pre-wedding lunch at designer Valentino's chateau.

A source told X17: 'Rob said he was sickened by Kim and Kanye's display of wealth and clothes and beauty and called it 'superficial bulls***' but Kim was pissed that Rob hadn't made an effort to drop any weight over the past few months. 

'Rob basically thinks Kim cares about him only for his appearance and he said he'd 'make life easier' for her and just leave.'

And he was as good as his word, skipping not just the wedding but the rehearsal dinner at the Palace Of Versailles and the Valentino luncheon.

'Rob booked his flight for Saturday morning and skipped the lunch at Valentino's,' the source continued.

'He just doesn't seem to feel comfortable or happy around his family at all. They're all wrapped up in the same pretty world and he just doesn't fit in.'

Inside LAX, Rob appeared to be struggling with his emotions looking both pained and angry as he texted on his phone.

However, as he left the airport the sock designer kept his head down and covered his mouth with his jumper as he talked down the phone.

Rob seemed emotionless as he walked towards his car, with confused photographers' asking why he was not at the wedding.

The reality star ignored their questions however, and did not lift his head.

Rob obviously hoped to not be spotted and dressed as incognito as possible wearing black sweatpants, T-shirt, trainers and cap.

Until the wedding the 27-year-old has been staying out of the public eye so much so, that until last Sunday, Rob had not been seen in public since January.  

He has not had an easy year.

Last month several reports emerged suggesting that a depressed Rob had sought help for emotional and substance abuse issues.  

Rob's representative denied this was the case.  

He has stepped away from the reality show that made his family famous in this latest season and was noticeably absent from the recent filmed family vacation to Thailand.

Rob has noticeably struggled with his weight in the last year will reports suggesting he has gained around 100 pounds.  

It is believed Rob's struggles started after his split with singer Rita Ora, whom he accused of cheating on him.  

Last month the star posted on his Twitter, then quickly removed the statement: 'No one will ever understand how much it hurts.'  

Rob was not the only one skipping out on the wedding, Kanye West's best friend Jay Z and famous wife Beyonce were also no shows.
