A Chinese man, Mr Ho, has survived a rod’s impact, entering through the right side of his forehead and exiting through the left side of his jaw. The metal rod suddenly fell from above while he was dismantling a property in Guangxi Province.
Paramedics called to treat Mr Ho were astounded to find him entirely conscious and lucid, despite the thick rod embedded inside his head.
Fire fighters removed most of the metal bar outside his head before he was moved to a larger hospital for further treatment. Complex emergency surgery allowed doctors to remove the remainder successfully and staff say Mr Ho is recovering well and out of danger. See more photos below:
