Yesterday,53-year-old George Clooney tied the knot with British human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin. They were married by their close friend and ex-mayor of Rome, Walter Veltroni at the seven-star Aman Canal Grande Hotel..
'George and Amal were married today in a private ceremony in Venice, Italy,' a rep for the silver fox confirmed yesterday. In attendance were Vogue editor Anna Wintour, George's mother Nina and sister Adelia, actor Matt Damon, model Cindy Crawford, singer Bono and actress Emily Blunt,U2 singer Bono.
Following the ceremony, guests were met with champagne and canapes including polenta with wild mushrooms and prosciutto ham with figs, according to a source. And the wedding celebrations are reportedly continuing tomorrow, when the newlyweds will sit down for lunch with their guests.
The excited actor was accompanied by his father Nick as he made the 15-minute journey from the Cipriani hotel to the exclusive Amal resort, where he was meeting his bride-to-be.
Clooney was joined by around 90 guests for the reception.

Style maven: US Vogue editor Anna Wintour opted for a pink, grey, white and black colour theme, matching her fur stole to the pale shades of her dress and accessorising with sparkling jewels around her neck

A-list wedding: The celebrity-packed guest list read like a who's who of Hollywood

Not long to go: Clooney is seenstanding on the front boat shortly before his marriage to Amal Alamuddin in Venice. He was joined by family, friends and other A-listers

Chaotic scenes: The nuptials took place at sunset on Saturday, with crowds lining Venice's Grand Canal to cheer on George and his A-list guests, who travelled in style to the Aman hotel in a flotilla of vintage water taxis

Nervous? George looked slightly anxious as he rubbed his hands together, but gave a friendly wave to other guests arriving 

Embellishment: Emily's dress featured floral jewel-detail all over the blue material of the gown, with the neckline made up of the same coloured stones

Hollywood wives: Emily Blunt and Matt Damon's wife Luciana Barroso opted for vibrant colour dresses for the event

Rock royalty: Bono stuck to his trademark black for his evening attire, but chose blue-tinted aviator sunglasses to wear for the night


The armada: The Venetian waterways were filled with taxis taking the 90 guests to the luxury hotel for the wedding reception
