This new state of the art Olympic size stadium built by Dr Godswill Akpabio can sit up to 30,000 people. The Akwa Ibom International is also called the Nest of champions.
It is acclaimed to be the most modern stadium in West Africa . It has a 4-tier, covered seating terrace,all natural grass, high technology floodlights,security cameras, VIP booths,bullet proof VVIP booths,etc. It can also change colours to match the outfit of the teams playing football on the pitch.
The stadium will be launched tomorrow with a friendly match between Super Eagles of Nigeria and Black Stars of Ghana by 3pm on Friday November 7th.
