A bomb set off today by a suicide bomber in Potiskum has left many people dead. The bomb was targeted at members of the Shiite group, the Islamic Brotherhood of Nigeria as they marched in a procession at Faydia Islamic School located near the old market in Pokiskum, Yobe state. They were celebrating Ashura day, which is the new month of the Islamic calendar, when the bomb went off. The bomber was in the midst of the worshipers when the bomb exploded.
The scene of the incident has been cordoned off by security operatives.
