Nigerian politicians to undergo psychiatric tests?

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has recommended that all politicians, seeking various offices in the 2015 general elections, should be made to undergo psychiatric tests to determine their mental state, Punch reports.

NMA, in a communique at the end of the National Executive Council meeting in Jos, said all psychiatric doctors had been advised to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission that will supervise such tests.

NMA National President, Dr. Kayode Obembe, who read the communique on Sunday, said such test had become necessary because of the manner some political office holders had conducted themselves.

Some of them act crazy sometimes. Lol Do you agree with their position?

  1. Are they trying to enrich psychiatric doctors? Cos I bet they'll be certified mentally sound and the doctors will be smiling to the bank.
