Russia denies ownership of detained arms-laden plane



The Russian government has denied reports that the aircraft allegedly transporting some military hardware to Chad and intercepted in Nigeria on Saturday has any link with it.
This information was tweeted on Saturday night by the Russian Embassy in Nigeria. @RusEmbNigeria , ‘’According to the information of the Embassy, the detained in Kano plane, allegedly carrying military hardware on board, is not Russian. 
A plane believed to be loaded with dangerous weapons was intercepted by the Nigerian authority when it was about to depart to Chad. The plane which was heading to N’djamena, the capital of Chad, landed in Kano at about 2a.m. Nigerian time before it was intercepted. The plane and all members of the crew have been detained.
The Nigerian military authorities, while confirming the report, failed to disclose full details of what transpired but posted on its twitter handle @DefenceInfoNG, that “An Antonov Cargo aircraft carrying some military hardware was arrested at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in the early hours of Saturday 6th Dec. 2014,”
