Julia Roberts' mother passed away in the early hours of Thursday morning, according to a report.
Betty Lou Motes was 80-years-old and was battling lung cancer at the time of her death, according to In Touch Weekly.
Her passing comes just a year after her daughter Nancy Motes - Julia's half sister - committed suicide from a drug overdose in February last year.
Betty had been living at Julia's Los Angeles home, along with the Oscar-winning actress' husband Daniel Moder and their three children.
She is said to have passed away at St John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California.
A 'cancerous tumour' was reportedly found on Betty's lung during a routine MRI scan in November 2013 but it was only revealed the following February after her daughter Nancy's tragic death.
The household Betty raised her children in was unstable and abusive due to the presence of her second husband Michael Motes, who was often unemployed.
Julia's biological father Walter Grady Roberts had tragically died of throat cancer aged 44 when she was just 10 years old.
