38-year old ‘Scandal’ actress Kerry Washington is on the cover of the March/April 2015 issue of EBONY magazine.

Kerry Washington, Scandal star and activist, may be a Hollywood “it” girl, but she doesn’t shop images of her adorable baby to the tabloids or post pics of her handsome hubby on Instagram for #ManCrushMonday. That’s why it’s so refreshing to go behind the scenes with Washington and learn more about her personal passions, latest projects and carefully guarded family life in the double March/April issue of EBONY.She also dished on why she felt compelled to speak out about the Mike Brown tragedy on the red carpet at the Emmys last August. According to the 38-year-old, it was tough celebrating her nomination knowing that Brown’s parents had just lost their son.
“I was really broken that morning,” she told Ebony.
Washington recounts of the off-the-cuff interview during which she shared the difficulty of being Black in America.She went on to say that she watched the live stream from the teen’s funeral online that morning and was unable to shut off the emotions that came as a result.
“Watching that funeral, I was just broken. And I take all of who I am into a room. That’s where my mind was that day. I’m not going to let anyone segment me or make me exclude parts of who I am because they may be threatening.”
She's also on the cover In Style’s controversial March 2015 issue and last week,Marie Claire rolled out their April issue with the actress on the cover.
