‘Face facts: You didn’t really give birth. You caught a lucky break,’ reads one of the slogans, emblazoned across an image of a woman’s stomach bearing a C-section scar.
‘Please show respect to superior women who actually had what it took to get the job done.’
And it’s not just women who have had elective caesareans that are the subject of this hate group’s censure.
The Christian society, said to be run by Father Patrick Embry, claims that pregnant women whose lives are in danger during childbirth should merely accept that it is their time to die.
‘Pregnancy is a beautiful thing as it is the zenith of a woman’s role in society,’ reads a worrying Facebook status from the group page.
‘If God has decided to call you home, it is not up to you or a doctor to reject Him. You may find yourself cast into the lake of fire for doing so.’
Reducing women to child-making baby machines is not only reductive to mothers around the world, it very strongly implies that if you do not have a child either through choice or circumstance, you are somehow less than a woman.
C-sections are not the only crusade the Disciples have gone on.
Embry has tweeted numerous public service posters, warning his followers about the dangers of contraception, gay marriage and even adoption.
There has been no confirmation that this is indeed a real religious group or merely a satire of the more worryingly conservative sects out there.
In response to these disturbing messages, over 20 anti-Disciples of the New Dawn groups have popped up on Facebook forcing the deletion of the original group page.
I'm so shocked if this is real that I have nothing to say than "Forgive them Father for they not what they do " Amen!
