Is Mariah Carey too beautiful to date billionaire James Packer? Her fans think so!

Mariah Carey's fan are not happy with the singer on her rumoured romance with James Packer which has surprised many.

But the ones most in shock appear to be the 45-year-old's Instagram followers, many of whom were unafraid to express their displeasure with her choice of billionaire beau.

'Your too beautiful and elegant to be with James packer!!!! Please don't! [sic],' one of her 2.1million-plus followers commented on the picture below..

The shot in question saw the new couple posing with Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara and director Brett Ratner on 47-year-old James' yacht, the Arctic P. 

Another protective fan was more concerned, writing: 'I don't think I like him and his exploitive behaviour. I don't think she does either. It's something in her smile [sic].'

'Somehow I think Nick will prevail. Just watch...stay tuned,' they added, in reference to Mariah's ex husband Nick Cannon.

'Is that mariah Carey boyfriend in black wow there is hope for me then [sic]' one user commented, with another exasperatedly adding 'Oh Mariah, why, why, why???'

It certainly wasn't all negative though, with supportive sentiments like: 'I'm so f***** happy for Mariahhhh'.

James, Australia's fourth richest man boasting an estimated fortune of US$4.7billion, was first seen on Saturday strolling around Capri, Italy hand-in-hand with the pop diva.

Pictures emerged of the amorous pair, Mariah wearing a plunging red Maxi dress and enormous smile, and Packer looking marginally smug behind Aviator shades.

Onlookers told MailOnline the lovebirds were appeared affectionate and looked like 'a normal couple' as they made their way across the island.

Sources this week told TMZ that Sydney-born Packer has been 'aggressively' pursuing Mariah for months. 
 It seems Mariah Carey and her billionaire beau James Packer's romance is moving at the speed of light, with the couple reportedly already discussing marriage.

The 45-year-old vocal powerhouse is said to be hoping to wed the Australian business tycoon once her divorce from estranged husband Nick Cannon is finalised, TMZ is reporting.

James Packer has developed a relationship with Mariah Carey's twins and was seen chatting with her four-year-old son Moroccan as the couple sailed around Capri on his yacht on Sunday

 

James was married for six years to model Erica Baxter, with whom he has three young children, prior to which he was married to designer Jodhi Meares - who joined him and Mariah on the yacht.
