Ex Governor of Benue state arrested for beating up his wife in the United Kingdom?





According to reports,the Ex Governor of Benue state,Gabriel Suswam has been arrested by the Metropolitan police in the United Kingdom. He allegedly battered his wife. 
After his arrest, the Metropolitan Police Domestic Violence Office initially held him at its London detention centre. Suswam was later released on £5,000 bail.
Nigeriancurrent.com, reported that Suswam’s wife Yemisi placed an emergency call to the police from their luxury London home to report that the embattled ex governor had physically assaulted her.
Yemisi told the police dispatcher that during a minor argument in which she condemned her husbands questionable relationship with mistress ‘Shidoo’, Suswam battered her which prompted her to run for her life.
If convicted, the ex-governor could be jailed for about six months in the UK under the Persons Act of 1861.
A source revealed that Suswah had always told Yemisi he would legally marry Shidoo.
Suswam like many other ex governors,owns a permanent home in London.
The ex-governor is reportedly avoiding the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision (EFCC) and is currently on refuge in the UK after governing Benue state for eight years.
