How a victim of domestic abuse used her injuries to shame her attacker...

A brave victim of domestic violence has used pictures of her horrific injuries to launch an anti-abuse campaign.
Mother-of-two Brooke Beaton had photographs taken of her with two black eyes after her boyfriend allegedly assaulted her.
Her friend uploaded the images on Facebook in a bid to raise awareness about abuse in relationships and has already been bombarded with positive feedback.
Tiffany Thoelke, who photographed her 27-year-old friend's injuries said: "It opened a conversation that could go on forever," the Argus Leader reported.

"Where it goes from here, I'm not sure. It's only been a couple days, but it's hitting powerful, powerful people that I'm hoping will use this as their platform."
As well as photographs of her two black eyes the pictures capture Brooke with tears running down her face. Another highlights a purple bruise on her shoulder.
They were posted on social media on Sunday and have already had an overwhelming response from other women and men who have survived domestic violence.
Tiffany added: "Older women and young women were sending me voice messages through Facebook, they recorded themselves telling their story."
"I'm an artist. I'm not a counselor. But having mentored high school girls, I feel obligated to do something for these women."

Brooke, from South Dakota alleges her injuries were caused when her boyfriend assaulted her as they drove along in a car.
She claims she was in the passenger seat on August 22 when he became angry and punched her in the face and choked her.
She managed to get away after they pulled over at a petrol station and he was later arrested for domestic aggravated assault and interference with emergency communication.
Since the pictures were posted she said she had received messages of support from a number of people including a waitress in a restaurant who recognised her and left a heartfelt message on a napkin.
Brooke said the server told her: "'You're very courageous and very brave. You're putting a face out there that nobody is ever going to forget."
