A mum who texted a cake maker wanting a ' blonde girl' figurine added
to a birthday cake for her daughter- was shocked to receive one with a
'blind girl' on top of it instead.
Marie Seggie, from Lanarkshire, Scotland, ordered the cake for her daughter Laura’s 21st birthday, and subsequently made the request for a figurine with blond hair - like her daughter's.
Unfortunately auto-correct had changed her order to 'blind girl' - which led to this bizarre creation, the Daily Record reports.
The birthday girl’s sister decided to upload the picture on Twitter and was astounded after it went viral.
In the tweet, which has been shared more than ,7000 times in less than 24 hours, Emily wrote: “My mum ordered a cake for my sisters and asked for a blond girl on top but it autocorrected to blind n we got this.”
Emily, 17, said: “It was one of my mum’s friends that made the cake for Laura. At the last minute, mum texted her and asked her to put a wee blond figure on top.
“When we got the cake on Friday, mum called us in and asked us if we could see anything wrong with it.
“We were a bit confused why there was a blind girl on top but then mum told us the mistake she had made with autocorrect.
“Thankfully we all saw the funny side of it, including my mum’s friend.
“We were going to take it off the top because we weren't sure if it would be seen as offensive but decided to keep it in the end.
“We all just laughed about it. I uploaded it on Twitter and it just went crazy. I woke up and couldn’t believe how many times it had been shared.”
