The Auditor-General of the Federation, Mr Samuel Ukura, on Wednesday said N183.7 billion could not be accounted for by auditors after a special check on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) accounts from 2008 to 2012.
Ukura made the revelation in Abuja after submitting three special reports to the National Assembly.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, two of the reports were on the environmental audit on the drying up of Lake Chad while the third was on Special Periodic Checks on the activities and programmes of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Ukura stated that a lot of discrepancies were noticed in the NDDC accounts, and that about N183.7 billion would have to be refunded to the federation account.
