Nicki Minaj’s brother Jelani Maraj has been charged with raping a 12-year-old girl.

In August, Nicki Minaj attended the wedding of her older brother, Jelani, and the rapper took to her Instagram page to share the rare family photos and also to write Jelani a loving note:

“Jelani, I love u more than you’ll ever comprehend,” she began. “I would cross the ocean for u. I would go & bring u the moon. Promise u. For u I will. I love my brother so much man. Can’t believe I cried during his wedding and his first dance like a punk. May God bless him and his union. Tonight has been one of my favorite nights of all time. I do anything to see my brothers smile.”

Now, new reports have confirmed that the 37-year-old Jelani Maraj was arraigned yesterday for first-degree rape and assaulting a 12-year-old girl. The newly-married man was freed on a $100,000 bail from the Nassau County jail in East Meadow.Details about the rape case are reportedly still being withheld by the attorney.
