Serena Williams says....'confidence equals sexy'

She is known for her confidence on and off the tennis court.

And on Friday night, Serena Williams remained true to form as she strutted her stuff at the Australian Open Players Party at the Club Sofitel Lounge in Melbourne.

Despite being relatively dressed down for the occasion, the 34-year-old athlete exuded poise as she flaunted her midriff, complete with bellybutton piercing, in a black crop top matched with a pair of basic black leggings.

Serena, who jetted to Australia earlier this month ahead of the Hopman Cup and 2016 Australian Open, recently spoke to Harper's Bazaar about what makes a woman attractive. 'Being sexy is really about how you carry yourself. Strength and confidence equal sexy,' she explained. 

Serena also stressed the importance of always being your authentic self - especially when dressing for a first date because 'your true colours will show through in the end'.

'I think that goes back to always being yourself from the beginning. Be confident of your inner strength and beauty, and that will be reflected on the outside,' she added.
