Black Friday

Black  Friday is a shopping day for a combination of reasons. As the first day after the last major holiday before Christmas, it marks the unofficial beginning of the Christmas shopping season. Additionally, many employers give their employees the day off as part of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Black Friday in America, the day after Thanksgiving that officially kicks off the Christmas shopping season with huge sales, bargains, and deaths.
2 people were killed during Black Friday riots in America. The death toll is expected to grow.
A 20-year-old man was killed and his brother was wounded in a shooting outside a Macy’s store in New Jersey early Friday.
And a person was killed outside a Walmart in Reno, Nevada before doors opened for Black Friday shopping.
The senseless deaths helped fuel reports that America’s Black Friday tradition is slowly dying as bargain shoppers stay home with their families and shop online.
In related news, the militant group Black Lives Matter blocked white-owned stores along Michigan Avenue in Chicago for the 2nd year in a row.
Kimberley Veal, a BLM organizer, said, “One of the cornerstones about why we’re boycotting on Black Friday is to attempt to redirect people to businesses owned by people of color and women, and explain why it’s important to patronize these businesses.”.

Why is it called ''black friday'' though? lemmeaskgoogle
