Orange Is The New Black's Samira Wiley is pictured for the first after marrying writer Lauren Morelli in Palm Springs on Saturday.
The 29-year-old actress - who plays Poussey Washington in the Netflix series - tied the knot with her long term partner in an intimate ceremony with friends and family, which was reported exclusively by Martha Stewart Weddings.
Both brides wowed in custom gowns by Christian Siriano.
The nuptials were confetti-themed and based in part on the couple’s desire for a non-traditional event.
Wiley’s parents officiated the ceremony, according to the magazine. Christine and Dennis W. Wiley, are the co-pastors of Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ in Washington D.C.
The pair made upbeat music selections for the ceremony, walking to This Is How We Do It by Montell Jordan for the recessional and entering the reception to Justin Bieber’s Baby.
Guests dined amid centerpieces of flowers and citrus fruits, garlands, sparkling light strands and mismatched glassware, reports the publication.
For their wedding cake, Samira and Lauren opted for a jubilant but non-traditional Funfetti cake.
Their chosen Palm Springs location was significant for the couple, as it was where OITNB writer Morelli popped the question with a dazzling yellow-gold engagement ring.
Lauren explained how she had the epiphany to propose while she and her then-girlfriend enjoyed a weekend getaway in the desert retreat in a November interview with Out Magazine.
'I realized I could propose right before and then we'd have the weekend there to celebrate,' the writer told the magazine.
She continued, 'I found a ring, and they shipped it to me, and it was as if someone had handed me a ball of fire and said, "Here, tend to this."'
Samira celebrated her bachelorette party in Miami earlier this month.
The Juilliard alum partied at the Miami club E11EVEN with 13 of her closest pals, which included OINTB co-stars Danielle Brooks and Uzo Aduba, according to E! News.
Morelli was previously married and split from her husband after she says that she realised she was gay while writing for the hit Netflix series.
