50 people are confirmed dead and 406 were transported to hospitals after a retired military veteran opened fire during a country music festival at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
The massacre at the Mandalay Bay is now the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.
Harrowing video shows the moment a man opened fire with a high-powered fully automatic rifle during a country music concert at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. Fully automatic rifles are illegal in the U.S.
Witnesses say the shooter was not at the music festival, and the shots came from an elevated position above the Las Vegas Strip.
Police confirmed the shooter fired an automatic weapon from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino hotel.
The gunman paused multiple times to reload, allowing terrified concert goers to escape the carnage.
All hotels at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip were put on lockdown. Police are confident there was only one shooter.
Gateway Pundit reporter Josh Caplan posted videos of panicked concert goers fleeing the spray of bullets as live rounds ricocheted off the concrete.
SWAT teams rushed to the 32nd floor and used an explosive charge to breach the hotel door before gunning Paddock down. Police detained an Asian woman, later identified as Paddock’s wife, Marilou Danley (pictured inset), as well as located 2 vehicles linked to the couple.
Paddock and his wife lived in a retirement community in Nevada, according to published reports.
The famed Bellagio Hotel was evacuated amid unconfirmed reports that a gunman was seen there carrying a rifle.
An off-duty police officer from Bakersfield, CA was treated with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police cautioned everyone to avoid going down to the Strip. Concerned family members looking for loved ones are asked to call 1-866-535-5654.

My prayers to all the people that were affected. Sad.
What could have triggered this senseless violence on harmless people?
