Lamborghini's Sesto Elemento

 The World's Most Expensive Car
Sesto Elemento
"The $2.76-million supercar is not even close to street legal."
So it would appear that Ferruccio Lamborghini's old tractor company has done it again. The new Sesto Elemento -- Italian for "sixth element," a periodic table-related reference to the car's carbon fiber frame -- is the sort of 570-hp, 2,200-pound, 0-60-in-2.5-second beast that ornery state troopers just dream of impounding.

Unluckily for them -- and also for the rest of us -- the $2.76-million supercar is not even close to street legal. It's too light, too fast and too reminiscent of the sort of alien interceptor our future overlords will likely arrive in. It's just too much.

Readers, meet the most expensive retail car in the world.
