Paralympics 2012: Oscar Pistorius makes his entrance.....starts off by setting a new WR in his T44 200m heat!his quite an inspiration!!!!
Oscar Pistorius, nicknamed the Blade Runner, has run his first race at London's Paralympic Games.
One is the world’s most famous Paralympian; the other is the fastest. On
Saturday night the 80,000 spectators in the packed Olympics Stadium
were roaring
on both.
The Paralympics on Saturday got its first glimpse of Oscar Pistorius,
the best
known Paralympian on the planet, who only three weeks ago was making
history
in the Olympic Games by competing against able-bodied athletes.
Pistorius, 25, smashed the world record for the T44 200m in a time of
21.30
seconds.
The crowd screamed in delight. Pistorius had given his fans a proper
treat in
winning his heat in world record time and qualifying for the final of
an
event he first won in Athens in 2004 and then won again in Beijing
four
years ago.
He will defend his two other titles won in Beijing - the T44 100m and
400m –
later in the week.
Wowww blade runner indeed!gud 1!
ReplyDeleteHe's a bad loser. A Brazilian beat him yesterday and he immediately complained about the length of his (Brazilian's) blades. That's like Asafa complaining that Bolt has long legs.
