WIFE OF 11 DAYS SEEKS PAYOUT FROM ZIMBABWE PM MORGAN TSVANGIRAI
Zimbabwe premier Morgan Tsvangirai’s bid for an out-of-court settlement with a woman he was married to for just 11 days last year has crumbled after she allegedly demanded £312,000.

Harare businesswoman Locadia Tembo claims Mr Tsvangirai accustomed her to a good life and “there was need to maintain the standards,” local media reported.
The official Herald newspaper said she had rejected an offer of a £124,000 one-off payment.
Her lawyer Everson Samukange said: “We are going back to court to argue the matter.”
Ms Tembo, 40, says the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader paid a brideprice for her in November 2011, making her his “customary” wife. But Mr Tsvangirai announced that he was divorcing her less than two weeks later, citing the involvement of president Robert Mugabe’s shadowy Central Intelligence Organisation.
Brideprice or lobola is a key part of Zimbabwean marriage customs – though in this case no marriage certificate was signed.
Last month, Ms Tembo – whose sister is an MP in Mr Mugabe’s Zanu-PF party – took out a court order to block a church wedding between Mr Tsvangirai and new partner Elizabeth Macheka. Mr Tsvangirai, 60, lost his first wife Susan in a car-crash in March 2009
