Are women now in Boko Haram? Boko Haram enrolls women to transport arms and obtain information – JTF
It is believed that Islamic sect, Boko Haram, have signed up women to transport arms and ammunition in the North East Nigeria.
New reports claim that the leadership of the Joint Task Force had revealed the information to officers of the special task force during a briefing in Maiduguri.
According to reports, an anonymous JTF officer let out that Boko Haram also planned the exploitation of women as means to obtain the addresses and locations of some high-profile politicians and businessmen considered as enemies of the sect.
JTF excluded women in their investigations and screening to avoid religious backlash but has now changed due to new reports that women are used as agents,women are now been frisked as they are considered as security risk.
Information has it that women will be used by the terrorist group to wreck havoc,to get valid information
for their terrorist attacks as well as to lure politicians and prominient people who are Anti-Boko Haram to their death.They will also be used to monitor locations of JTF operatives in order to carry out sudden attacksThe reported moves to co-opt women into the sect’s activities is coming on the heels of an offer for ceasefire by Boko Haram last week.While reacting to the offer for ceasefire by the sect, the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Ibrahim, said the Federal Government could only take the sect seriously if after one-month ceasefire, there is no violence in the North.
