Farouk Lawan Sacked.

 

Tambuwal has sacked the embattled Chairman of House of Reps Ad-hoc Committee, Farouk Lawan from his post as Chairman.He has been replaced by Aminu Suleiman(PDP Kano), as the substantive Chairman of the Committee.He was the deputy chairman of the committee on labour and productivity.

Farouk is currently facing trial for allegedly receiving a bribe of $620,000 from oil tycoon,Femi Otedola, though he claims he was framed.Otedola is accusing him of demanding for $3m bribe to facilitate the removal of his companies,Zenon Oil and  Synopsis International from list of erring companies in the oil subsidy probe.Farouk has been embroiled in the bribery scandal  and The House had temporarily stripped Lawan of his position as chairman committee on education as well as chairman of the subsidy probe committee pending the outcome of the investigation of its committee on ethics and privileges in June 2012.

    Let us see how they will handle the cases of indicted companies in the oil subsidy saga.
