British Airways Aborts Abuja-London Flight

According to Thisday, a London-bound British Airways (BA) flight was Monday aborted following a problem with one of its engines which stopped working just as the plane was about to take off from the Nnamdi Azikwa International Airport, Abuja.
The BA 8.30am scheduled flight to London had to be towed away from the runway to the tarmac as engineers were said to have tried to fix the problem, which developed from the right engine of the plane.
The spokesperson of the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja, Henrietta Yakubu, confirmed the incident but could not comment further on the cause of the problem.
Efforts to reach British Airways for comment, however, proved futile.
Passengers were asked to disembark from the plane, following which they were informed of the flight's cancellation.
