Monaco are ready to step in with a world record £85 million bid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, report the Independent.
The mega-rich French club have already signed the likes of James Rodriguez and Radamel Falcao for big money this summer and are now preparing to test Real Madrid's resolve.
Ronaldo is said to be demanding a huge pay rise to top what Lionel Messi is being paid at Barcelona if he is to sign a new deal at the Bernabeu but Monaco, owned by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, are willing to pay him £330,000 a week.
