To help men keep their style in check, one woman has released a humorous clothing guide.
San Francisco-based artist, Jessica Saia recruited a male model to demonstrate a range of looks covering the spectrum of 'looking fine' to 'YOU SHOULD BE FINED!'
She gives the thumbs up to 'cool, timeless sunglasses' and a 'simple, fitted crew-neck T-shirt' but advises against feminine-looking watches and deep V-neck T-shirts showing a spread of chest hair.
Another fashion crime, Ms Saia says, is wearing sunglasses upside down on the back of the head like celebrity chef Guy Fieri.
She deems socks and sandals an equally unattractive combination.
The former art and design student says she was inspired to create her clothing how-to, titled The Dos, The Don’ts, and the Oh God, Please Don’ts of Men’s Fashion, because 'typical style guides just don't go far enough.'
Outdated: These sunglasses are deemed unstylish by Ms Saia
'The problem seems obvious: typical style guides just don’t go far enough.
'Can you really trust that someone is going to take your gentle tips on, say, layering and NOT put on every item of clothing they own? No! You can’t!'
'I Don't know, I kind of like the midriff button down look,' one wrote.
And another added: 'The deep v neck [T-shirt] is alright, the 'don't' for button down is okay, maybe unbutton two of three, and the 'do' for cut off shorts is just hell no.'
Too girly: Ms Saia prefers something more bulky on a man's wrist
Ridiculous: Extra-large watches are branded a no-no
However, the majority appear more interested in the man modeling the looks.
'That gentleman can show off his belly any day,' one said.
'On a cheeky note, where is your review of do's and don’ts of undies? (with this guy, of course),' said another.
Smart casual: A normal, fitted button down is one of the recommended looks
Too elaborate: This patterned shirt did not impress Ms Saia
One wrote that they can't stand seeing men wearing 'T-shirts that are eight sizes too large' paired with 'saggy pants'.
It's not the first time Ms Saia has offered men some tips on their appearance.
What's your take? Is she on point or not?
