More twists in Gov. Chime's wife's house arrest saga.

National Human Rights Commission says it has written Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime, requesting access to his wife, Clara.
Clara had written the commission complaining that she is “under house arrest” on the order of Chime.
The NHRC Director of Information and Communication, Muhammed Ladan, confirmed that the commission had written the governor.
He said, “The NHRC has commenced investigation into the complaint received from Mrs. Clara Chime and has requested Governor Chime to grant the commission access to the complainant.”
It the petition, Clara complained that she had been cut off from friends and relatives.
Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, has also petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Muhammad Abubakar, on her behalf.
Clara in the petition said, “We do not have a relationship anymore and the situation inevitably led to my nervous breakdown. I have been diagnosed with severe depression and at some point was quite suicidal.”
She stated that she had been subjected “to the most horrific and intolerable of conditions to cause my demise.”
She complained that she had been denied sexual relationship with her husband for four years, deprived of responsibilities as a wife, prevented from bonding with her four-year-old son and barred from receiving visitors, whether family or friends.
“In effect, I am locked up in my bedroom, without access to anybody.
“I am only allowed food but no access to fresh air; I have been locked up because I demanded to leave, even without my son. Governor Chime recently revoked my land allocation; the governor is doing everything possible to break my will”, she said.

Meanwhile there are conflicting reports emerging that her husband Governor Chime has denied publicly that his wife is not under house arrest or any form of duress from him and his wife denied writing to National Human Rights Commission.

She also denied hiring the services of Mr. Femi Falana to seek her freedom from an alleged house arrest at the Governor’s Lodge, Enugu. Continue

Falana had claimed in his letter to media houses and the Inspector-General of Police that he was engaged by the governor’s wife to seek her freedom from alleged house arrest.

The state governor, however, stated that it was “so disturbing” for him to speak out publicly about his wife’s health challenges.

He vowed to do all within his power, no matter the personal pains, to protect her from ridicule.
“Well, my wife has some medical challenges and it would be very unkind for me to talk about her condition on the pages of newspapers.

“I have done everything to protect her integrity and I’m not now going to expose her to ridicule because some people want to exploit her situation to drag me into a needless war of words,” Chime said.

Hmmmmmm.Who do you think is fooling who here?
