Multi-platinum-selling artist Tinie Tempah and Mercury Prize nominee Laura Mvula will duet in a performance to open the EE British Academy Film Awards on Sunday 16 February.
The two artists have collaborated on the track Heroes, which features on Tinie’s latest album Demonstration, and the performance will see them follow in the footsteps of legendary singer Tom Jones and multi-Brit Award nominee, Paloma Faith, by performing at the ceremony.
Tinie and Laura premiered the track on The Jonathan Ross Show.
Tinie shared his excitement about the forthcoming performance.
'I'm extremely excited to be opening the 2014 EE British Academy Film Awards performing 'Heroes' with the incredible Laura Mvula.
'It's a huge honour to be performing there. This song was inspired by film scores and theme songs so I'm looking forward to showcasing what British music has to offer in front of the world's film industry elite.'
While Mobo Award winner Laura added: 'I’m really excited to be opening the show with Tinie - especially as it's been such an amazing year for film.
'It's definitely a bit scary when I think about who will be there but we're going to put everything into the performance and it's a big song so it really lends itself to film.'
Didn't know Tinie Tempah is of Nigerian descent.
