Sorry I Robbed You

Reluctant winner: Macklemore, shown performing on Sunday at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, sent fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar an online message on Monday saying Kendrick should have won the Best Rap Album award

Macklemore responded to his win for Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards by sending an apologetic message on Monday to friend Kendrick Lamar.
The 30-year-old Seattle, Washington rapper sent a text message to 26-year-old Kendrick after his The Heist album with collaborator Ryan Lewis beat out Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City by Kendrick as well as rap albums by Jay Z, Drake and Kanye West.
'You got robbed. I wanted you to win. It's weird and sucks that I robbed you,' Macklemore wrote in his text to Kendrick.

'I was gonna say that during the speech. Then the music started playing during my speech and I froze,' he continued.
Macklemore went on to congratulate Kendrick who hails from the gritty Los Angeles suburb of Compton, California for a successful year.

Macklemore shared his message to Kendrick with his more than 2.6 million followers on Instagram.
The rapper wrote in an accompanying post that he believed Kendrick 'deserved best rap album' and also thanked fans for their support.
Macklemore & Lewis won a leading four Grammy Awards on Sunday, including Best Rap Album, Best New Artist and Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for Thrift Shop.
Kendrick was nominated for seven Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Best Rap Song, F***in' Problems that also featured Drake and 2 Chainz.

  7. That's exactly why he won, cos he's white!! Eminem was in the Guinness book of records for highest selling rap album! Never heard of this mackle-guy till I saw this post.
