The couple reportedly wed secretly on Wednesday, January 15 ,2014 and completely took everyone by surprise. Everything was all hush hush and was reportedly planned and executed by Maje, with the help of Toke's close friends and some family members.
The story of their wedding has gone completely viral with so many versions on how the couple pulled it off. They have dated each other one and off for more than a decade and recently had a well publicized break up that had people believing it was definitely the last break-up and final straw.
One interesting version claims OAP,Toke, was in the dark about the wedding and Maje planned the surprise wedding as a photo shoot. It reads like a romantic movie script:
Maje Ayida concoted a plan with a popular magazine to organize a wedding photo shoot with Toke Makinwa in Lagos Island.Toke had her make-up and hair done and dressed up for the photo shoot in a wedding outfit..
At the venue of the shoot, Toke's friends, some family members and ex-boyfriend Maje together with the officiating person from the registry were all waiting expectantly for the dramatic reconciliation between the pair. Toke obviously accepted Maje's speech and rings and the rest is history.
There is speculation that Toke may be with child too for Maje.... The news broke yesterday online and this morning she tweeted:

ReplyDeleteI don't think it was a surprise at all,I think she was in on it. Don't want anyone planning a surprise wedding for me when I've already planned it a million times in my head. Surprise engagement party is fine but not the wedding. I must have the wedding of my dreams.
