Beauty queen, with or without grace?

Miss Amazon beauty pageant.

A Brazilian beauty contest ended in chaos when the runner-up grabbed the winner's crown and threw it to the ground moments after the result was announced.

The finalists stayed true to tradition by holding hands in an apparent show of affection as judges announced the name of Miss Amazon 2015.

Deflated Sheislane Hayalla even managed to congratulate lucky lady Carolina Toledo and applaud her after hearing she had come second.

But she disappeared into the background to be consoled as organisers surrounded the 20-year-old beauty queen to put her winner’s sash over her head.

And seconds later, distraught Sheislane saw red and yanked her rival’s crown off her head as audience members captured the amazing scenes on camera.

Other participants looked on in horror as the wannabe ripped out the tiara, threw it to the ground, pointed an accusing finger at her adversary and insulted her before storming off stage.

Distraught organisers rushed to pick up the crown and put it back on law student Carolina’s head as security officials rushed backstage to reach her attacker.

Sheislane claims that Carolina bought her way to the title, saying, "Money talks in Manaus [the city where the pageant was held] and I wanted to show the Amazon people money doesn't talk here." She continued, saying, "She didn't deserve the title."
