The 52-year-old actress stars in Vivica’s Black Magic, a reality TV show about her exotic male dance revue.
In a recent radio interview, Fox was asked if her male strippers dance for gay men.
Ms. Fox responded tactfully by saying male revues exist for gay men, but her show was not one of them.
“Hell no,” she responded. “They dance for women. It’s called the ultimategirls night out.”
After the stinging backlash to Fox’s remarks on social media, her producer Jean-Claude LaMarre, who is presumably gay, stated he would no longer work with Fox.
“The comments were out of order, and it does not represent our attitudes toward the LGBT community. All are welcomed,” he told gossip tabloid TMZ. “Vivica speaks for herself not the business or the show.”
That prompted Fox to gracefully apologize to the gay community in a social media post.
“I’ve been a FRIEND n supporter of the LGBT community for years! My intention was not to offend anyone and I’m woman enough to apologize if you felt that way. My show has already been taped and I was just doing something for the ladies but all are welcome to enjoy Vivica’s Black Magic Show! It’s HAWT… I’m all about LOVE not HATE dawling! Have a blessed day.”
Vivica’s Black Magic airs weekly on Lifetime Television.
