Nigeria on high alert ahead of Muslim holiday.
Security forces are on high alert amid threats of terrorist attacks as Nigerians prepare to celebrate Tuesday the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.
Residents of northern cities are receiving cell phone messages warning them to stay home. One says "They will pretend to be women but they are suicide bombers.
The Boko Haram terrorist network blamed for the killings of hundreds said last week it is planning "big attacks."
Last week soldiers raided a bomb-making factory in Kano, where terrorists were building bombs in backpacks.
Police chief Mohammed Abubakar said in a statement published Monday that extra officers are being deployed around malls, bus stations, churches and mosques.
Thousands of troops already are deployed to put down an Islamic uprising in the northeast of Nigeria.

ReplyDeleteThese boko haram members are just acting up out of their ignorance. The Koran does not encourage violence or muder under any guise. They need to open their eyes and act right.
