45-Year-Old Farmer Kills Wife Over Cassava Flour



A 45 year old farmer identified as John Ogunji has allegedly killed his wife Christiana in Okitipupa area of Ondo state over a disagreement on the sharing of a bag of cassava flour (Garri).
The unfortunate incident took place at Obatedo village in Omotosho area of Okitipupa Local Government area of the State. The suspect is presently detained at the state Police headquarters in Akure.
According to reports from Vanguard, Police source informed that the suspect told his wife to share the cassava flour into 2 after frying it.The couple had before the incident had a quarrel, prompting the husband to request that the cassava flour be divided.
It was gathered that the wife disregarded the order and said that the bag of garri should be intact and not shared because of their quarrel. This called for a heated argument.
The 39-year old deceased, according to report was said to have insisted that it was improper for a couple to separate the food in the house because of a quarrel that would soon be resolved.
The standpoint of the wife irritated the husband who consequently hit her on the head with a plank.
The deceased died before she was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
Police Image Maker, Wole Ogodo said the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigative Department in Akure, the state capital for more investigation, after which, he will be charged to court.
