Mrs Dieziani Alison-Madueke elected first female president of OPEC



Mrs Dieziani Alison-Madueke, Nigeria's current Minister of Petroleum, has been elected the first female president of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). She was elected today at the ongoing 166th General Meeting of OPEC in Vienna, Austria.
She is expected to resume office immediately for a one year tenure.
