Ivorian professional footballer Yaya Toure has won the Glo-CAF award for ‘African Footballer of the Year’ at the 2014 edition for the fourth year in a row.
The Manchester City FC midfielder beat Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, who got the second and third positions respectively,to win the coveted prize on Thursday, January 8, 2014 in Lagos, Nigeria.
Touré, 31, has now equalled Cameroonian striker,Samuel Etoo's record . Etoo has also won the award four times (2003, 2004, 2005, 2010).
I prayed hard for Enyeama to win. Yaya Toure deserves it. He really worked for it
