This College Student Literally Lives On A Train

Train hopping

Rent sucks, but one German woman may have found a way to beat the system.
After a fight with her landlord, 23-year-old Leonie Müller reportedly decided dealing with all the bullsh*t that comes with finding a nonmoving residence was not worth the struggle.
She packed her bags, headed to the train station, bought a ticket and hasn’t looked back since.

Like, she literally hasn’t looked back since. Like, she lives on a train now.

Armed with a laptop, a wash bag, textbooks, a bag full of her clothes and the on-train washroom, the University of Tübingen student has apparently been able to move her entire residence into a railcar.

She says living this lifestyle actually enabled her to spend more time with her friends, family and boyfriend, who would be considered a long-distance beau if Müller did not live on a thing made just for transporting people long distances.

Though she does have late-night train rides, Müller claims she tries to crash with friends and family at night, frequently finding a bed at her mother’s house, grandmother’s house or her boyfriend’s house.
Müller says living this lifestyle is actually a little cheaper than living in a rented apartment.

Her monthly ticket costs about $380 while her rent allegedly cost around $450 a month.

Though the cheaper price tag is nice, Müller told The Washington Post saving a few bucks wasn’t her intention.
She says,
I want to inspire people to question their habits and the things they consider to be normal. There are always more opportunities than one thinks there are. The next adventure is waiting just around the corner — provided that you want to find it.
She is documenting her experience on her blog, Wherever You Go, There You Are! and plans on using her journey for her final undergraduate paper.
