The Obamas final Xmas photo is candid & classy!

New look: President Obama and the first family have sent out their final White House holiday card, choosing a candid image taken at a State Dinner in March (above)

President Obama and the first family have sent out their final White House holiday card, choosing a candid image taken at a State Dinner in March (above)

The First Lady shines in Jason Wu while President Obama looks dapper in a tuxedo, with his arms wrapped around his wife and two daughters in the photo chosen for the card.
Sasha and Malia meanwhile look refined and elegant, outfitted in the Naeem Khan gowns that cause a bit of an uproar back in March when it was revealed that they each cost $20,000.
That was the first, and only, State Dinner that Sasha and Malia attended during their eight years in the White House.
The inside of the holiday card features the presidential seal and says “Happy Holidays.” It’s accompanied by a note that says,

As our family reflects on our many happy years spent in the White House, we are grateful for the friends we’ve made, the joy we’ve shared, and the gifts of kindness we’ve received. We wish you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season and a wonderful new year.
Well wishes: 'As our family reflects on our many happy years spent in the White House, we are grateful for the friends we've made,' reads the inside of the card

As the Obamas lit up their last national Christmas tree as the first family on December 1, President Obama offered an important message about America:

The holidays…offer us a time for reflection and perspective. And over these next few weeks, as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, as we retell the story of weary travelers, a star, shepherds, Magi, I hope that we also focus ourselves on the message that this child brought to this Earth some 2,000 years ago — a message that says we have to be our brother’s keepers, our sister’s keepers; that we have to reach out to each other, to forgive each other. To let the light of our good deeds shine for all. To care for the sick, and the hungry, and the downtrodden.  And of course, to love one another, even our enemies, and treat one another the way we would want to be treated ourselves. It’s a message that grounds not just my family’s Christian faith but that of Jewish Americans, Muslim Americans, non-believers — Americans of all backgrounds. It’s a message of unity and a message of decency and a message of hope that never goes out of style. And it’s one that we all need very much today. After eight years as your President…I still believe that there’s so much more that unites us than divides us.

He added,

Before we leave tonight, I just want to express what an incredible honor it has been to serve this nation…and to feel its warmth and to feel its generosity, and how our family has been awed by America’s goodness. And, most of all, it has been so special to share these eight years with all of you.
